I use recognizable images of the natural world to depict eeriness in my Forest Series. With this work, I a place that is familiar, the woods, and transform it into a place that is not real. With each work, I begin with monoprinting as a means of creating a background that fades in and out. I then draw trees or a pond on top of it. In this series, the negative space plays an important role in each piece. The background is not clear and fades in and out. Many times I used contrasting colors.
