I created this painting/collage for a 2-person show with my father, Edward Pramuk, at the Ann Connelly Gallery in Baton Rouge in 2005 and this is one in a series called “Marking Time”. This series mainly deals with making marks to document the passing of time and housing these marks within confining structures and spaces. Also, I was exploring the formal elements of modernist painting while incorporating natural forms and colors. I particularly like this painting because it feels like a tiny study. The small square collage elements are 1/8” deep wood panels securely adhered to the front of the panels to add a sculptural feel. The tiny collages were made as separate paintings before they were attached to the larger works. Ready to hang with wire, includes wax finished 2” deep plywood frames attached flush to the back of the panel.
